The Ashleys are "in the house!"

and by house, I mean India.

Well, we've made it safely here. We survived a plane ride from Chicago to Frankfurt, Germany and one from Frankfurt to New Delhi, India. Even more impressive is that we survived the 30 minute car ride from the Delhi airport to our hotel. I use the term "car" very loosely.

Driving was as we had expected and very similar to what we experienced in Thailand. The lines on the road mean nothing, red lights are mere suggestions, and all drivers honk to let everyone else around them know they are coming through.

Nearly rear ended someone. Check.
Drove on the side of the road. Check.
Came within inches of sideswiping a concrete wall. Check.
Saw husbands riding motorcycles with their wife riding side saddle and their infant being held between them (on the highway). Check x7.

And that was only the first 5 minutes!

We rushed to our hotel so that we might Skype with our boys before their nap and before we retire for the evening (it is 12:30am here). To our disappointment, the computer at home was not on, so we resourcefully logged onto Facebook and asked our friend Sonya (thanks again!) to call my mother and have her turn the computer on. Isn't technology grand?! We were able to video chat with the boys for about 15 minutes and they are doing great.

So, our next move? Sleep. Sleep, and maybe do some shopping in the morning before returning to the airport (undoubtedly via another harrowing "car" ride)for our 2.5 hour flight to Bhubaneswar.

We will then only be 45 minutes away from Jada...
