In the meantime we're having a great time. We're staying at a cool little bed and breakfast run by a husband and wife. There are several other couples here and they serve us all family style for meals around a big dining room table. We've met some very interesting people. Our favorites were a retired Asian woman with her British husband who live in La Jolla, CA and were VERY enthusiastic about their trip today to a toilet museum. The wife was hilarious and learned (and was happy to demonstrate for us) the acupressure points that will keep you from having to pee when you really have to go. The husband was mortified that she was talking about potty-stuff at dinner.
For lunch we ate at a very nice restaurant recommended by our driver. Jada ate like a horse. She was eating mostly formula at the Children's Home and the table food she did get was very soft - like bananas - or pureed. We're feeding her off our plates and I think she is enjoying the textures and variety. She had her first piece of garlic bread today and loved it! (I don't know why they brought us garlic bread to go with our Indian food!) She also begged for one of my Altoids after lunch. I finally gave her one and she ate it and asked for more!
We're learning more and more about Miss Jada. Things we have learned:
She has a big sweet tooth - loves ice cream and Fig Newtons :)
Scared of animals
Girly-girl - loves sparkly stuff, baby dolls... can't wait to get her a purse to carry all her stuff!
Likes to have her ouchies kissed and will find ouchies that don't exist just so you'll kiss it
Terrified of baths and showers, tried both, including the bathroom sink and none were successful
Likes her sleep. She asks to go to bed and is asleep within minutes
She has a great laugh - kind of a soft belly laugh that is so contagious
Tomorrow is a shopping day. We're going to venture out on a rickshaw and see what we can find. (Don't worry dad... we'll be fine :) We're looking forward to a day to relax a little since we've been so busy up until now.
Please enjoy these pictures of Jada and her bed-head taken today. Oh, and as promised, pics of Jeremy's lovely Children's Home pedicure.
